Head coach Matt Maynard has named an unchanged 13-man squad for Glamorgan’s match against Hampshire at The Ageas Bowl today.
The Welsh county travel to Southampton on the back of a thrilling tie against Gloucestershire last night in front of the Sky cameras.
Despite taking a point from the match, Glamorgan currently sit at the bottom of the South Division but with the competition still in its infancy, a win against Hampshire could catapult the club into 6th place and into quarter-final contention.
Wicket-keeper Chris Cooke starred with the bat against Gloucestershire, bludgeoning 42 off just 21 balls and although he was disappointed Glamorgan couldn’t claim the victory, he was pleased with the side’s improved performance.
“It was disappointing in the end to only come away with a point but we played some much better cricket during the game, which is a good sign going forward for the rest of the competition.
“It was nice to slog a few out of the middle but I thought Lloydy and Fakhar played brilliantly up top and laid a good foundation, which allowed me to come in and express myself.
Glamorgan face a Hampshire side which will contain a familiar name, but after a comprehensive victory over the home side last year in the Vitality Blast, Cooke is confident the side can get their first win of the competition and begin to move up the table.
“It’ll be interesting facing Aneurin which I’m sure will be a lot of fun for everyone.
“They’re obviously quite strong with some destructive players in the side and their bowling is pretty wily, but we have a pretty good record down in Hampshire and we’ve got good vibes there.”
