Glamorgan will play their first-ever List A match at Radlett as they meet Middlesex in their next game in the Royal London One-Day Cup, with the contest on Wednesday, May 10th scheduled to start at 11am.
After their nail-biting victory over the Essex Eagles at The SSE SWALEC on Sunday, Glamorgan travel to the leafy North London suburbs to meet Middlesex at Radlett. This will be the first time that the Glamorgan 1st XI has visited the ground, with the Radlett club having previously staged contests between the Welsh county’s second string and their counterparts from Middlesex as well as against the MCC Young Cricketers.
Glamorgan were beaten by eight wickets in their most recent List A contest away to Middlesex, with the game in mid-August 2015 at Lord’s seeing Dawid Malan compile an aggressive century against an inexperienced Welsh attack.
Prior to this game, Glamorgan had won their List A encounter at Lord’s in May 2013, with an unbeaten 137 by Marcus North being the highlight of Glamorgan’s 26-run victory. Three and a half months later, the Welsh side were back at the St. John’s Wood ground for the final of the Clydesdale Bank40 competition, but it was the Notts Outlaws who were victorious by 87 runs.
Glamorgan were also beaten by six runs in 2007 in their previous List A contest against Middlesex at Lord’s, but the Welsh county tied their National League encounter at Lord’s in June 2000, just a few weeks before Glamorgan lost to Gloucestershire in the Final of the Benson and Hedges Cup, despite a combative hundred from Matthew Maynard.
