Glamorgan faced a tough challenge against South Group leaders Surrey at The Kia Oval, resulting in a nine-wicket defeat.
Batting first, Glamorgan struggled to 107 for nine in their 20 overs. Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 20 runs, while Chris Sole contributed a valuable 15 not out.
The innings got off to a poor start, losing early wickets to Surrey's pace attack. Kiran Carlson and Sam Northeast were dismissed in the second over. Despite Labuschagne's resistance, Glamorgan struggled to build momentum. Colin Ingram fell for 8, and further wickets continued to fall as Glamorgan found it difficult to recover.
Ben Kellaway managed 11 runs before being caught at mid-wicket, and Dan Douthwaite was caught behind for 7. Late hitting from Sole, including a six, and a ramp shot from Jamie McIlroy, helped Glamorgan reach three figures.
Surrey's bowlers, led by Gus Atkinson (3-19), Sean Abbott (3-25), and Spencer Johnson (1-16), kept Glamorgan to a modest total.
In response, Surrey's batsmen dominated Glamorgan's bowling attack. Dan Lawrence and Dom Sibley led the charge, with Lawrence scoring a quickfire 27. Sibley remained unbeaten on 43 off 26 balls, while Laurie Evans added an aggressive 31 not out off just 13 balls. Glamorgan's new signing Chris Sole picked up the lone Surrey wicket
Glamorgan will now turn their focus to a County Championship home game against Northamptonshire this Sunday.
