Gloucestershire v Glamorgan - team news and match preview

20 Jun 2014 | Matches
Glamorgan visit Bristol for their next LV=County Championship match against Gloucestershire with the four-day contest scheduled to get underway at 12 noon on Saturday, June 21st.
Last summer's encounter between the two sides at the Nevil Road ground proved to be a high-scoring draw with Murray Goodwin and Jim Allenby completing centuries for the Welsh county, before Michael Klinger and Alex Gidman followed suit for the West Country side.

The game in 2012 at Bristol was abandoned without a ball being bowled, but Gloucestershire were victorious when the two teams met at the ground in 2011, with some probing seam bowling by Jon Lewis, Will Gidman and David Payne seeing their side record a five-wicket victory

Glamorgan's last win at Nevil Road in a four-day contest came in a rain-affected contest in April 2008 when they were victorious by 114 runs after David Hemp had completed half-centuries in each innings and Jason Gillespie had delivered a feisty spell of seam bowling

The two sides have already met in 2014, with the rain-affected contest at Cardiff ending all square, and after their recent contest in the NatWest T20 Blast had also been affected by the weather, Mark Wallace and his side will be hoping that they can build on their victory at Cardiff over Kent and further consolidate on their place in fourth spot in the Division Two table, and with a game in hand over those above them.

Please note that the game starts at 12noon on Saturday with all timings an hour later than usual, but the timings will revert to normal on Days 2, 3 and 4 with a start at 11am on these days
