Head coach Matt Maynard has hailed the re-signing of Australian all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne as ‘great news for the club.'
Labuschagne has signed a two-year deal with the club and will be available for the club across all three domestic formats.
“It’s great news for the club,” said Maynard. “He brought a lot of energy to the team last year and a huge amount of skill with the bat, his leg-spin and in the field.
“His character reminded me a lot of Viv Richards in a lot of the things he did in terms of his drive and his passion for playing. He’s a real leader on the field.
Maynard believes having the Ashes star available will also have a positive effect on the Glamorgan squad who will be able to utilise his experience and knowledge of the game.
“You can learn so much from a player like Marnus. He’s a proper cricket badger. He wants to work on his game all the time and better himself. You can learn so much the way he goes about things.
“He played Tim Murtagh last year who is a very good county bowler, but he worked him out and walked into his channel and down the wicket.”
