It was a record-breaking day for Glamorgan during their victory against Middlesex at Merchant Taylor’s School.
After falling to 51-3, Chris Cooke (113*) and Colin Ingram (92*) put together a staggering partnership of 187*, the highest-ever for any wicket for the Welsh county -and the best for the fourth wicket by any team in T20 cricket.
Cooke’s century is also the fastest by a Glamorgan player and the 6th fastest hundred of all time in the format.
“It’s the first time I’ve played here” said Cooke.
“So hopefully I can come back as it’s a great place to bat. Colin and I enjoy batting together and we got into a good rhythm and it was one of those days I guess where everything you try comes off.
“We didn’t panic (at 51-3). We had 180 as a par score which wouldn’t have been enough. We knew if we were both set at the end anything would be possible.”
