I enjoyed it immensely, I love the club - Marnus

Glamorgan's Vitality Blast match against Surrey at Sophia Gardens was abandoned with the teams earning a point each.

All-rounder Marnus Labuschagne took 2/27 with his leg-spin as the away side posted 160/9 before the rain came down with the Welsh county 9/0.

"Definitely disappointing for us," said Marnus. "160 we thought was a decent total on that wicket.

"We thought the wicket played a lot better than the other night [against Essex]. So we were pretty confident getting off to a good start there, the little bit of rain meant it was skiddier so wasn’t holding on the wicket so it would have been tougher on their spinners.

"Disappointing that we didn’t get on there and have a crack at that run chase, but that is the game we play, and unfortunately for me that is the way I am finishing."

The world's top-ranked Test batter will now depart for Australia's tour of Sri Lanka but says he wants to continue playing for Glamorgan.

The Australian star made 11 appearances for Glamorgan in 2022, scoring 118 runs in five Blast innings and 377 runs at an average of 41 with the bat and took 10 wickets in the County Championship.

"I enjoyed it immensely, I love the club, and I'm seeing a lot of improvement with guys like Kiran Carlson and David Lloyd who's stepped up to be skipper this year," added Labuschagne.

"Sam Northeast is a great signing who I've become close with and it's enjoyable to see the club improving.

"There's still a long way to go for us as a club, to keep pushing the limit. I want to see this club moving into (Championship) Division One in the next two to three years which should be our goal.

"We've got the likes of (fellow Queenslander) Michael Neser leading our bowling attack, though Michael Hogan (retiring) is going to be a massive loss. But the enjoyment, the culture, everything about this club is the reason I keep turning up."
