I felt we deserved more than the one wicket - Harrison

Assistant coach David Harrison believes Glamorgan were unlucky to only pick up one wicket on a rain-hit day two of their LV= County Championship match against Middlesex at Lord's.

The Welsh county's seamers bowled with consistency and control throughout the morning session and beat the outside edge on a number of occasions, but were unable to make the breakthrough until left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel took the sole wicket of Middlesex opener Mark Stoneman after a fine century.

“I thought in that first session we bowled really well as a group," said Harrison. "We were unlucky not to pick up some wickets, although I have to give credit to Stoneman and Simpson, who played well.

“They got away a little bit after lunch but we dragged it back nicely and I felt we deserved more than the one wicket.

“They’re obviously in front in the game. The pitch seems to have quickened up a little bit and got better for batting on.

“We’ve got a new ball for the morning and we’ll have to have a big session, try and bowl them out as soon as we can and build a big score.”
