Ingram Calls For Bumper Crowd v Yorkshire

Colin Ingram marked the end of the NatWest T20 Blast group stages in style and called upon all Glamorgan fans to get behind the team when they welcome Yorkshire in the quarter-finals in Cardiff.

Ingram blazed a century at Chelmsford, as Glamorgan booked a home quarter-final against County Champions Yorkshire on Thursday August 11 at The SSE SWALEC.

And the South African – one of the form batsmen in this season's competition – was relishing another crucial game in the Welsh capital.

On his own form he said: “It is always nice when it is going well. It was probably not my prettiest innings but at the death it went really well. It has been a good couple of weeks and I’m trying to make the most of it and respect it.

“I am the type of guy who likes to play cricket and I was disappointed when the rain came. But it was nice to come and put a good total on the board. We are getting to the business end of the season and it is a good time to be putting runs on the board."

With Glamorgan finishing second in the South Group with 19 points from 14 games, Ingram was confident the Welsh county could take that form into the knockout stages.

Robert Croft's side will now welcome the likes of Tim Bresnan, Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett to The SSE SWALEC and Ingram was keen to see a bumper crowd to cheer on his teammates come quarter-final night.

Ingram added: “We have played well at home this season in white-ball cricket, bar one hiccup, and it will be nice if we get a lot of people through the gates against Yorkshire.

"We have been playing good cricket in the white-ball stuff so there is no reason why we can’t put some more results together.”

Glamorgan play Yorkshire at The SSE SWALEC on Thursday August 11. Tickets go on general sale on Sunday at 9am. Members and T20 season ticket holders can buy early on Saturday from 11am.
