Colin Ingram is fresh off the back of consecutive hundreds in the Royal London One Day Cup and is extremely optimistic for the final two months of the season.
His form in this year's 50-over competition has been remarkable as he has chalked up three scores in excess of 50 in just four innings.
It's always nice to get a hundred, especially when it contributes to a good couple of wins also. Fifty overs is probably my favourite format, if you look at my stats I perform best in that format, Ingram said.
Growing up in South Africa we played a lot of 50-over cricket as kids playing youth cricket, and I find it's a great balance between batting a long time and being able to play your shots.
Glamorgan have only lost one of their five matches in the RLODC so far this season, and completed a remarkable chase against Kent last week at the SSE SWALEC. Requiring 103 to win in the final eight overs, Chris Cooke built on the foundations laid by Ingram to clinch victory with two balls to spare.
It was great to see Chris hitting the ball so well and whilst I was batting I was thinking of all the seemingly impossible targets that sides have chased in the last 15 overs of an innings. The change in the rules, with two new white balls means that the ball stays harder for longer and it certainly helps when chasing large targets.
As with all competitions, we are looking to go all the way and having lost only one game we have certainly not been playing bad cricket. We are enjoying each others success and company and it helps us to want to do well in this competition.
Unfortunately, Glamorgan suffered their first defeat in the competition yesterday at Edgbaston as they were bowled out 179. However, Ingram is still positive going forward.
I think both Hampshire and Warwickshire bowled well upfront and tied us down somewhat, and a few of the options we took didn't quite work. But you're going to have those days; we are looking to come back strong and fighting hard in the remainder of the competition. We are always striving to become more consistent as a side.
This week sees Glamorgan host the Swansea Festival at St Helen's and the programme includes a RLODC match and a four-day Championship match.
I'm extremely excited to get down there, I've heard it's a great place to play cricket and we'll all be hoping for some sunshine. It's my first time at Swansea and I can't wait to get going
The festival sees the return of Championship cricket for Glamorgan who have had a break from the competition for a couple of weeks.
My one-day batting has meant that I have spent a lot of time in the middle, and that breeds confidence going into the longer format. I'll be looking to take advantage of my current form as we move back into Championship cricket.
With 5 matches remaining in the Championship, the scrap for promotion is hotting up, and Glamorgan still remain well in the mix.
We will be looking to win as many matches as possible. There are still plenty of games to go and a lot of points available, so we will be making a good go of challenging the top sides.
I'm sure our small squad will be tested over the coming two months, but the younger players that have been in the side and netting with us have impressed me. Hopefully I will be able to help them along with their game and it's great to see these younger players succeeding.
Ingram will be hoping for a good set of results as Glamorgan host both Sussex and Gloucestershire at the Swansea festival this week.
Tickets will be available at the St Helens ground from gates 2,5, and 8 on all days and will be CASH ONLY.
