Colin Ingram believed Glamorgan played with intelligence and maturity in their six-wicket victory over Gloucestershire last night (Friday).
Ingram, whose innings of 64 from 30 balls was the standout performance for Glamorgan, preferred to heap praise on a collective effort, which allowed Glamorgan to storm to their third victory out of four in this season's NatWest T20 Blast.
His innings included 4 fours and 5 sixes as Ingram piled on 89 for the third wicket with Aneurin Donald.
After the game, Ingram reflected on Glamorgan's intelligent use of the short boundary with both bat and ball – in damp conditions – as the bowlers reduced Gloucestershire to a slightly below-par 168, which the Welsh county were able to chase down with ease.
Ingram said: "You have to use the short side (of the ground), I thought we were quite intelligent in our batting tonight, and you don't have to over-hit it, just time it well.
"Credit to our bowlers too, for getting wickets in the early part of the innings which slowed them down, it was a great effort with a wet ball and a short boundary."
The South African also spoke about Gloucestershire's star Australian bowler Andrew Tye, who was removed from the hosts' attack by the umpires after bowling two balls above wasit-height.
Ingram added: "It's never nice to see a bowler (Tye) go through that (being taken off by the umpires), fortunately it was the over we needed to put us ahead of the rate and secure the win.
"It can happen to anyone, but bowlers are never the happiest bunch, they can be quite grumpy and he was probably frustrated, he was a bit upset."
Glamorgan's next match in the T20 Blast is at Taunton against Somerset on Wednesday.
