Ingram Praises Team Effort After Debut Fireworks

16 May 2015 | Cricket
Glamorgan batsman Colin Ingram praised the collective efforts of his teammates after scoring 91 in a Club record T20 total of 240/3 that put Surrey to the sword.
Ingram, making his limited overs debut for Glamorgan, enjoyed a three-figure partnership with Jacques Rudolph before a late assault from Chris Cooke propelled the side way beyond a previous best of 206/6.

You never know when it's going to be your day and I'm just glad it came off for me and for the team, said Ingram.

I thoroughly enjoyed batting with Jacques as we complimented each other really well and it was the first time we batted together

We wanted to keep the partnership going while things were going our way and ride that momentum.

Surrey won the toss and elected to bowl knowing that 11 of the last 12 T20 matches at The Kia Oval had been won by the chasing side but had no answer to the boundary-laden knocks of the Glamorgan top order.

When you're involved in a 100 partnership you know its going to be a telling total and then Chris Cooke came in and took it even further, said Ingram.

The chat around the dressing room has been that we've been up there in quality terms in T20 cricket for a while now but we need to keep level heads.

We really want to go places and tonight was a great feeling.
