New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel claimed 5/68 to give Glamorgan a good chance of beating Derbyshire heading into the final day of their LV= County Championship match.
With Derbyshire still 174 runs behind, the Welsh county require seven wickets to defeat the visitors and stay in the promotion race.
“I guess as a spinner when you turn up and see a wicket that kid turning a bit then you expect to do a bit of work,” said Patel.
“I am just grateful I was in a position to take five today and get on the board with that so it was enjoyable. They batted really all and we HD to work hard, but we knew once we got through that partnership things could move quickly.
“l think about bowling spin as a long time thing and build up pressure over a long period of time. It helps when you have 500 on the board, \s a spinner you can toss a few extra ones up.
“I think it will be a nice game that will go to the wire and the last session, unless things happen drastically in the morning. We have to keep working and hopefully tomorrow we can chalk up a win and a few more wickets in my column would be nice too.”
