Somerset defeated Glamorgan by 16 runs in a seven-over thrash at Sophia Gardens that all but ended the Welsh county's chances of reaching the knockout stages of this year's Vitality Blast.
After being put into bat, the away side reached 75/6 with Michael Neser claiming 3/19 from his allotted two overs. In reply, Glamorgan were restricted to 59/6 with Colin Ingram (37 not out) the only batsman to get going.
"It was a tough night, really excited getting a couple of wickets early on, pegging them back, we felt that the wicket was skidding on and that chase was on but cricket’s a funny game," said Ingram.
"But they seemed to land a lot of yorkers to disrupt us and take wickets at the right time so we ended up short. Fair play to them, they nailed that skill and they play on a ground where you've got to do that often.
"Disappointed because we've started to find a bit more of a formula (winning the two previous games), but a pity it's been quite late. You need to start the comp well and get ahead, seven wins and you're in the money but the season didn't unroll for us that way.
"I have played in a few of these games in the past so it didn’t feel too unnatural, but you know there are certain moments in the game where you need to nail it and unfortunately with the bat tonight we didn’t do that and ended up on the wrong side of the result."
