It was a very disappointing day - Maynard

Head coach Matt Maynard conceded it had been a 'very disappointing' day after his side were bowled out for 97 on day one of their LV= Insurance County Championship match against Durham at Emirates Riverside.

In reply, Durham reached 223/3 and a lead of 126 by the close of play with Timm van der Gugten the pick of the Glamorgan bowlers with 2/46.

"It was a very disappointing day. It was very one-sided," said Maynard.

"It was a good toss to win from their perspective, we would have done the same.

"They didn't bowl too well up front and we capitalised to reach 60, but then Rushworth and Raine put the screws on. Durham bowled great areas after that and got their rewards. You're always under the cosh when you get a below-par score in the first innings.

"We bowled a little too short and wide, but you're always chasing the game when you get bowled out like that. It became a very tough day."
