It was good to get the wickets towards the end of the day - Hogan

Veteran seamer Michael Hogan was the pick of the Glamorgan bowlers as the Welsh county bowled out Durham for 311 after winning the toss and electing to bowl on day one of their LV= County Championship clash at Riverside.

Hogan took 4/67, which included a double wicket maiden as he removed England Test captain Ben Stokes for 82 and Matthew Potts for a duck in the over.

"It was good to get the wickets towards the end of the day," said Hogan. "We were happy to get them all out after putting Durham into bat, but they scored a few more runs than we would have liked.

"Hopefully, the weather is nice tomorrow and we can put on a few runs. Ben Stokes and Keegan Petersen are quality players, and at one stage it was looking quite ominous.

"The wicket was a little bit up and down and I was able to get one to bounce a little bit more that Stokes gloved. It's good to test yourself against these players.

"We would have liked a few more wickets earlier in the day, but the pitch did play quite nicely. Durham probably have a par score on this wicket.

"We've got to back ourselves to get a lead, but they've got a quality bowling line-up. It's going to be a challenge, but Marnus Labuschagne looked good so hopefully he can put on a few more tomorrow to get past their score."
