Marnus Labuschagne's career best 182 set the platform for Glamorgan to overcome a steep deficit and secure another draw, which leaves the Welsh county unbeaten in four Specsavers County Championship matches this season.
Labuschagne put on 291 with Nick Selman, a new Glamorgan record for any 2nd wicket partnership beating Maynard and Hemp (252 at Sophia Gardens) in 2002 and was full of praise for his partner as well as being happy with his own efforts in difficult conditions.
"I'm very happy, it's always good when you can contribute to some sort of result though not the one we really wanted," said Labuschagne. "After five sessions we were definitely on the back foot, so to get a draw is a pretty good result.
"Over here the ball is always swinging when it's new, so those first 20-30 balls are key. I was able to manage my way through that, we had a few stoppages and you have to make sure you're 'on' each day, but it felt good out there. I was disappointed when I got out because I knew how important it was to negate the new ball
"Nick batted very well especially in the first innings, he was a big contributor to the result. If he'd been knocked over early it could have been a different game and Dan Douthwaite played with real aggression and freedom which was good to see."
"I just want to keep trying to put runs on the board and hopefully if we can get a couple of wins we can get ourselves near the top of the table"
