Glamorgan captain Jacques Rudolph spoke following the 5 wicket defeat to Essex Eagles on Friday night about the team's performance, next week's fixture against Hampshire and the plans for the week ahead.
A frustrated Jacques Rudolph admitted that his side weren't really in the game this evening and that a lack of momentum when batting, and not taking early opportunities in Essex innings, ultimately lost them the game.
We were never really in the game tonight but still managed to scrape to 144. Unlike the game the other night against Surrey we never got any momentum in our innings
Michael Hogan's performance was one of the highlights for Glamorgan and Rudolph was quick to praise the influence he has had since returning from injury and is encouraged by the bowling unit at his disposal.
He's been unbelievable since he's been back, our bowling unit in general is growing and we just need to keep believing in them
Looking ahead to Hampshire next week Rudolph acknowledged that the side must improve but is encouraged by the positive mood within the campaign. With no four day game arranged for next week the squad will have a well-deserved few days off before returning to training for the game on Friday.
We can take a lot from the last two games. Surrey was like a perfect game for us and we played at 70/80% tonight so hopefully we can be better against Hampshire next week
