Kaiser Chiefs Set For New Single And Album

15 Jun 2016 | Events
Kasier Chiefs are preparing to release a new single ahead of their sixth studio album, before they begin a series of summer shows, including the one at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff on July 16.
'Parachute' was produced by Brian Higgins (Xenomania, Girls Aloud) and mixed by Serban Ghenea (Rihanna, Taylor Swift). The song - out officially on June 14 - will feature on the band's upcoming sixth album 'Stay Together'.

"When we wrote the first record we were very direct, little needed explaining. The songs seemed to speak for themselves and did all the hard work for us," frontman Ricky Wilson says.

"'Parachute' is pretty self-explanatory and a bit of a return to that. 'Parachute' is probably the first love song we’ve written since 'Ruby'."

Wilson adds: "When we finished writing the last record we realised that the most important thing to everyone is what’s going on in their lives. Their 'personal politics' and that’s what this album is about."

"If 'Education, Education, Education & War' was our protest album, then 'Stay Together' is our relationship album. Brian [Higgins] brought a very different approach to song writing and recording, it was a steep learning curve but together we tried out new ideas and sounds and ended up with a new and fresh sounding Kaiser Chiefs album. Like no Kaiser Chiefs record you have heard before."

'Stay Together' - their first LP since 2013 - will feature collaborations with MNEK and One Direction songwriter Wayne Hector.

Kaiser Chiefs headline a bill that also includes Dizzee Rascal and Everythign Everything on the pitch at The SSE SWALEC on Saturday July 16. Find out more and secure your tickets by clicking here.
