Usman Khawaja and Timm van der Gugten have topped Glamorgan’s batting and bowling averages respectively in this year’s Specsavers County Championship.
Khawaja tops the batting averages with 420 runs at 52.50, with his tally including a record-breaking trio of centuries made in each of his first three appearances for the Welsh county - against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, Derbyshire at Swansea and Northamptonshire at Cardiff.
In a summer where only five batsmen nationwide have topped the 1,000 run mark, Chris Cooke has ended the summer as the Club’s leading run-scorer with the vice-captain and wicket-keeper ending with 606 runs. His tally included four half-centuries, in addition to 41 catches and a stumping.
On the bowling front, Timm van der Gugten tops the Glamorgan bowling averages with 43 wickets at 21.76 runs apiece with his tally including a career-best 7/42 against Kent at Sophia Gardens. Michael Hogan, the red-ball captain, is once again the leading wicket-taker with 45 Championship wickets at a cost of a mere 22.53 runs .
