Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Hogan have topped Glamorgan’s 2019 first-class averages.

Labuschagne amassed 1,114 runs in his 10 first-class appearances, including five centuries, prior to his call-up for the Ashes series. His end of season average of 65.52 has only been bettered on three previous occasions with Javed Miandad averaging 69.43 in 1981, Steve James 68.27 in 1997 and Majid Khan 66.60 in 1972.
Billy Root with 768 runs and Nick Selman with 752 were next in the run-scoring aggregates, with Root also posting the highest Championship score of the summer with a career-best 229 against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
Once again Michael Hogan was the leading wicket-taker with 46, and the evergreen seamer topped Glamorgan’s bowling averages with his victims costing just 21.17 runs apiece.
On-loan Samit Patel was the leading spinner in the averages but Marnus Labuschagne was, in terms of wickets taken, the leading slow bowler with the Australian claiming 19 scalps with his leg-spin at 38 runs apiece.
