Australia and Glamorgan batsman Shaun Marsh is looking forward as his side take on England tomorrow in the second ODI of a five-game series between the teams at Sophia Gardens Cardiff.
Marsh was recalled to the Australia ODI squad, having not featured in the 50-over squad since February 2017 but is excited about the prospect of playing in a familiar setting.
"It's great to be back involved [with Australia] and good to be here in Cardiff as well," said Marsh. "I'm looking forward because it's going to be a big game for us and hopefully we can even up the series."
The left-hander has been involved in both the Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup for Glamorgan and has given his Australia teammates the lowdown on the Sophia Gardens Cardiff surface.
"Obviously I've played a few one-day games here over the last month and the wicket will be similar to those I've played on. I gave my thoughts about the wicket tomorrow but it looks good and hopefully there's plenty of runs tomorrow."
Marsh will be taking the unfamiliar walk to the away dressing room on Saturday and thinks he may get a mixed reaction despite his ties to Glamorgan.
"I think I'll probably get a mixed reaction, maybe some more boo's than cheers but I'm excited about getting out here. It's a great part of the world for good cricket and hopefully we get that tomorrow."
England edged out Australia in the first ODI at The Oval in the week and Marsh is hoping the tourists can even up the series in Cardiff.
"It's a big game for us, we were disappointed with our own performance the other night and we want to come out and play some cricket tomorrow."
