The newest addition to the Glamorgan first-team, Owen Morgan, has spoken of his pride and enjoyment at breaking into the side – after making his Royal London One Day Cup debut against Surrey yesterday.
Morgan only bowled two overs as Surrey reached 157/1 when the rain came and the game was eventually abandoned. Jason Roy had hit a quickfire 93 not out before that time, but Morgan enjoyed the challenge of bowling to the England ODI opener.
He said: "It was nice to make my domestic debut, albeit for 19 overs, and a great occasion at The Oval for the first time, so it was memorable for myself.
"Jason Roy was seeing them pretty well in fairness, so it's good to test yourself against guys who are doing well at international level."
Morgan is keen to earn more first-team opportunities this season after making two County Championship and two List A appearances so far this season after impressing the Glamorgan coaching staff in the Second XI.
"I was surprised to be involved at all this year with the first team, so I'm pretty pleased to have had a game at this point in the summer, that's a positive," he added.
