Glamorgan have announced their home ground will now be known as The SSE SWALEC.
The Welsh county's home became known as the SWALEC Stadium following the re-development in 2008 on the Sophia Gardens site, but following a brand update by SSE SWALEC seven years on, the venue has a new title ahead of the Investec Ashes Test Match which begins on 8th July 2015.
Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris said: The support of SSE SWALEC for Welsh cricket throughout our partnership has been invaluable. The company has helped us reach out to the community we serve, nurture the game at grassroots and reach a wider audience.
As a major player in the UK energy market, The SSE SWALEC is a brand that will bring with it nationwide recognition and as a club in the national spotlight, we're delighted that the name of our ground will reflect this.
The re-brand of the stadium to The SSE SWALEC also emphasises the long-term nature of this important partnership and we look forward to continuing to work together to enable cricket to thrive in Wales.
