Operations Manager George Mead was named the 2022 Rising Star at the ECB Business of Cricket Awards staged at Emirates Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Mead picked up the award after he stepped up from his role to expertly lead the Club’s entire operational planning and delivery in a year Sophia Gardens was also shortlisted for the Most Welcoming Stadia award.
The Welsh county was also shortlisted for the Pam Brown EDI Initiative Award 2020-2022 after launching and implementing its joint EDI strategy plan with Cricket Wales.
On receiving the Rising Star Award, Mead, said: “I’m extremely proud and honoured to win this award.
“It was a very tough season, but with the help of my colleagues at Glamorgan and ECB, we were able to successfully deliver a full cricket schedule, as well as several high-profile events.
“The work never stops, and planning is already underway for 2023 where we hope we can continue to deliver an excellent customer experience and fantastic matches.”
