Glamorgan get their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign underway when they host Gloucestershire today and they will have to be at their best to break through a resilient batting lineup, which includes this Australian star.
Michael Klinger has returned to the club where he scored so prolifically last season. An impressive 2015 for the Aussie opener included a brilliant century in T20 against Glamorgan, albeit in a losing cause.
Klinger, despite never playing internationally for Australia, has racked up a huge amount of runs in first-class and List A cricket in his long career. He boasts a List A average of 48.25 and has hit 14 centuries and 40 fifties while playing for the likes of Gloucestershire, Victoria and Western Australia.
As well as finishing towards the top of the run scoring charts in last season's T20 Blast, Klinger has appeared in the Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers.
He has replaced Cameron Bancroft as Gloucestershire's overseas player this season and skippers the side in one-day cricket, with regular four-day captain and wicket-keeper Gareth Roderick returning to the ranks. He will, undoubtedly, be a crucial wicket for Glamorgan this afternoon and evening.
