Jacques Rudolph says Glamorgan\'s confidence is growing after the Welsh county earned their third victory in four games against Gloucestershire yesterday.
Rudolph, who hit his first half-century of the season in the 52-run victory, looked ahead to tomorrow's Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Sussex Sharks. He said that Glamorgan are 'ready' for the challenge posed by the Sharks.
He said: "I always speak about momentum and as a unit in all three formats we’ve been pretty good recently.
"Sussex are a strong team and they’re always tough competitors but fortunately there’s quite a few guys in our team who are full of confidence right now and ready to take them on."
Rudolph's 53, along with Will Bragg's 75 and 49 from Graham Wagg helped Glamorgan compile 289 against Gloucestershire, before Timm van der Gugten took three wickets and Colin Ingram, Wagg and Craig Meschede snared two apiece as Glamorgan ran out convincing winners.
After the game, Rudolph hailed a professional team performance. He said: “I thought we were quite clinical in the way we went about our business.
"I thought Will Bragg played an outstanding knock and our bowlers were very good again tonight, Colin Ingram bowled exceptionally well, as well as Timm van der Gugten.
"We’ve got some good momentum in white ball cricket at the moment, so if that can continue for the rest of the week, I’ll be a very happy captain."
On his own personal form, Rudolph was satisfied to spend some valuable time at the crease, putting on 122 with Bragg for the second wicket to build a solid platform for Glamorgan's innings.
After enduring a difficult start to the season, Rudolph said it was 'nice' to register a half-century. He also hit 34 not out against Surrey two weeks ago.
He added: "When you’re not performing as well as you’d like, it’s good to spend some time in the middle. I was fortunate to be batting with Braggy who was in very good touch, so I will keep working. It hasn’t worked out for me yet this season but there are four months left I will keep giving 100 per cent."
Glamorgan's Royal London One-Day Cup match against Sussex Sharks tomorrow (gates open 1pm) is followed by their visit to Bristol to take on Gloucestershire in the NatWest T20 Blast on Friday night.
