Phil Salt added to England IT20 squad

4 May 2019 | International

Welsh-born Phil Salt has been called up to replace Dawid Malan in England's IT20 squad to face Pakistan on Sunday, 5th May at Sophia Gardens.

Salt was born in Bodelwyddan in North Wales and plies his trade at the top of the order as an aggressive striker of the ball for Sussex, with a career strike rate above 150. His T20 record includes a stint in the PSL playing for Islamabad United alongside potential opponents in Faheem Ashraf and Asif Ali.

Dawid Malan suffered a hamstring strain in England's four-wicket victory over Ireland on Friday, 3rd May, as Ben Foakes scored a half-century on ODI debut to take England home.

Full updated squad: Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes, Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Phil Salt, James Vince, David Willey
