Prem Sisodiya and Andy Gorvin sign contract extensions

Left-arm spinner Prem Sisodiya and right-arm seamer Andy Gorvin have put pen to paper on new deals with the Club.

Former England Under 19 International Sisodiya, established himself as a mainstay in the Glamorgan white-ball team, with his versatility and unflappability making him a valuable member of the team. He has taken 40 wickets in Vitality Blast with a healthy economy of 8 runs an over.

Andy Gorvin has been reliable with the ball and with the bat this season and has been a useful hand since his Championship debut in 2022, after making his Club debut in the Royal London Cup-winning side of 2021.

Gorvin, captained St Fagans while studying at Cardiff University and was a regular member of the Cardiff UCCE team, where he attracted the attention of Glamorgan before joining the county’s full-time staff in 2022.

Sisodiya said: “I’m really happy to have signed an extension with the club. It’s been my club since I was a little boy and I’ve always grown up wanting to represent Glamorgan so I’m grateful to have the opportunity to carry that on for another two years.

“Last season was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I was really chuffed to play my first red ball game for a while but would’ve liked to have contributed more to the T20 and 50 over competitions, especially T20 as that’s been my main format over the last few years. I still feel I went ok when I was given the opportunity but feel like I have a lot more to offer.

“I just want to keep developing my skill set in all three formats over the winter. I worked closely with Mark O’Leary last winter and through the summer, and it’s been great having him around to discuss all things spin. My main goal for next season is to secure my spot in the first team in all 3 formats and keep contributing to as many wins as we can get here at Glamorgan!”

Gorvin on signing his extension said: “Firstly, I’m delighted to have signed a one-year extension with Glamorgan. From a personal point of view, it was great to have played in all three formats for the 1st XI this summer and gained some important experience in lots of different situations. I’m looking to improve again this winter and be ready to impact games next summer.

“I think collectively we showed some great fight in difficult situations last year. If we can build on some of the positive performances we had during the season and become a bit more consistent, I believe we will have success. We have a great group of players in our squad and I can’t wait to get going again.”

Director of Cricket Mark Wallace commented: “It’s good news that both Prem and Andy have re-signed with the club. They’re both very popular members of the dressing room and are eager to learn and improve and help push the club forward.

“We look forward to them both contributing on and off the field in the future.”
