RADFORD NAMES 13-MAN SQUAD FOR SURREY BLAST-OFF

Glamorgan Head Coach Toby Radford has backed his side to make a positive start to their NatWest T20 Blast campaign against Surrey at The Kia Oval on Friday.

We've got every reason to back ourselves in T20 cricket because of the balance of our side, the number of all-rounders and the quality of our fielding so we're looking forward to the competition, said Radford.

There's a positive feel in the dressing room because of the character that was shown in our draw against Kent and the players really stood up when it mattered.

Radford's side will be loaded with leaders given the captaincy experience of Jacques Rudolph, Mark Wallace and Colin Ingram and a series of discussions have informed a number of new philosophies.

We've had a lot of discussions amongst the senior players and the coaching team about how the best sides they have played in have operated and, where we've agreed that something can improve our way of doing things, we've tried to implement it, said Radford.

I've had some good discussions with Colin Ingram about his role in the team and we know that he can score all around the wicket and likes to play aggressively which gives us a great option.

Glamorgan overseas signing Wayne Parnell will miss the fixture with a groin strain and is now expected to make his debut when Essex visit the SWALEC Stadium for the first home fixture of the campaign next Friday.

Surrey will include overseas signings Wahab Riaz and Kumar Sangakarra in their line-up and are expecting a crowd in the region of 8,000 to welcome the sides.
