Fast bowler Michael Hogan says it is an honour to become Glamorgan\'s Specsavers County Championship captain.
The Australian will share Glamorgan's captaincy responsibilities for the 2018 season with Colin Ingram who will lead the side in the One-Day Cup and T20 Blast competitions.
"It was an honour to have the interim captaincy last season but to be told by Hugh Morris and Robert Croft that I'd be captain for the full season was a huge honour," said Hogan.
Hogan was appointed as interim captain in May and admits leading a side has been a big learning curve for him.
"Managing different personalities has always been a tricky sort of one for me.
"I think I'm quite blunt, black and white, some people don't really respond to that, it's trying to manage different characters."
Glamorgan finished last season in seventh position in the second division and Hogan says that a lot of hard work will be going on in the next few months to ensure a better campaign, with the first target to secure next season's overseas player after the retirement of Jacques Rudolph.
"We've had a few discussions and we're pretty close to signing our overseas player - that announcement won't be far way," said Hogan.
"It should be in the next month or so, and there are a few other irons in the fire that might be released shortly as well."
Meanwhile, new white-ball captain Colin Ingram will be looking to build on Glamorgan’s success in the T20 Blast which saw the Welsh county top the south group and reach Finals Day for the first time since 2004.
"I’m really looking forward to the challenge of leading the white-ball side in 2018,” said Ingram.
"We've played an exciting brand of cricket and enjoyed good successes over the past couple seasons.
“I’ve personally enjoyed my cricket and the atmosphere around the Glamorgan dressing room. This is what I’d like to keep building on going forward as I believe a good atmosphere in the camp allows you to produce your best skills on game day and to enjoy your cricket."
