Captain Colin Ingram was left disappointed after his side fell to a 30 run defeat against Somerset at Sophia Gardens.
The Welsh county reduced Somerset to 59/4 before fifties from Corey Anderson and James Hildreth lifted the away side to 190/5.
“We like playing well at home and it’s always a big rivalry against Somerset so it was a disappointing result," said Ingram
"We took wickets early so we felt we were right in the hunt and we thought they’d slow the rate down but it seemed to really quicken up when Anderson got to the wicket.
"He played his shots with freedom and it came off and he did some damage. Hildreth played well as well and that partnership was quite deadly. We got off nicely and a few of us got starts. If someone goes through and put another 20 or 30 onto that, it becomes an easier total to chase.
"It’s disappointing but there were some good signs and a great feeling amongst the camp. The one thing with having 14 games is there’s lots of time to make up for it. Saying that, you want to get your wins early and you want to get stuck in, especially at home in front of a good crowd.”
