Wicketkeeper-batsman Chris Cooke partnered with Aneurin Donald and Andrew Salter to help steady Glamorgan on day of the Specsavers County Championship clash against Durham in Swansea.
Cooke made 42 alongside Donald, before becoming the dominant partner with Salter adding a further 64 runs to Glamogan's total. After the day's play Cooke said,
"They're important runs for the team and it's important that I stay there for the tail.
“I think we probably had the worst of the conditions over the two days. It was overcast with moisture in the air and the ball did a bit with us.
"The pitch is alright, it’s a bit stoppy but the outfield definitely makes up for it and there are runs out there. I think it’s important to have a gameplan because it’s a slightly different home ground to usual.
"Once you have a gameplan and a formula, you can score, but it’s just a case of getting in again tomorrow morning and getting close to their score.
"I think a lead is quite far away in the future but everyone bats in our team and hopefully if Salts and I can get through the first half an hour, it should be a bit easier when the ball is 50-60 overs old. So we’ll take it step by step and edge up to their score.
"They say ‘make hay when the sun shines’ and they’re important runs for the team and it’s important I stay there with the tail.
"I'm happy to be contributing positively to the side and I'll be doing my utmost to get through the first session tomorrow.
"We'll take it step by step and try and edge our way up to their score. Hopefully we can still get a positive result."
