Jacques Rudolph was left to rue a few missed chances as Glamorgan lost by 28 runs to Middlesex in the Royal London One-Day Cup but the Glamorgan skipper was keen to look ahead to the next game against Somerset.
Rudolph praised Colin Ingram, whose innings of 85 steered Glamorgan into a possible winning position, but they just couldn't get over the line and fell 28 runs short of victory.
After the game, Rudolph reflected on what might have been.
He said: "For long periods I thought we stood a strong chance of winning the game, I think with the way Colin Ingram has been batting, if he was there in the last over we would have had a chance."
Ultimately, Brendan McCullum's blistering innings of 110 proved the difference between the sides, as he and Dawid Malan (70) put on 176 for the first wicket at a swift pace.
Rudolph remained content with Glamorgan's white ball form despite the defeat and was keen to move forward. The Welsh county have won three matches out of four in both the One Day Cup and the T20 Blast competitions and sit top of the table in both.
Rudolph added: "McCullum is a world-class player and he'll always put you on the back foot, but we also had our chances against him, Hoges (Michael Hogan) got him with a no-ball and we also dropped him three times.
"All in all I'm happy with the way we're playing, but we made a few minor mistakes and unfortunately we were on the wrong end of the result."
Glamorgan take on Somerset at the county ground, Taunton, in the NatWest T20 Blast starting at 5.30pm tonight.
