Jacques Rudolph admitted it was always going to be difficult for Glamorgan to force a result against Kent, after more than a day\'s cricket was lost to rain this week.
Rudolph saw his Glamorgan charges earn a 69-run lead when posting 351 and bowling Kent all out for 282, but a lack of time remaining meant the match petered out into a draw.
After the fourth day, Rudolph reflected on a match that Glamorgan might have been able to win, had the rain not played such a major role.
He said: "I don't think there was much of a chance (after the rain delays). Maybe if we'd had 150-180 it might have been easier, but as soon as the hard ball goes soft, it was more difficult to pick up wickets, so I don’t think there was much of a chance (of forcing a result)."
Rudolph was content with Glamorgan's overall performance, which included individual highlights. Timm van der Gugten took a career-best 5/79, Michael Hogan clinched his 200th first-class wicket for Glamorgan and Graham Wagg hit two fifties in the game.
And Rudolph admitted his side were growing in confidence in four-day cricket.
He added: "I think since the Gloucestershire (four-day) game, in the bowling department we’ve been spot on.
"I really feel as captain that we’re bowling together in partnerships. I thought we’ve played really well in this game and we've been much better in the last three matches (in Championship cricket)."
Rudolph will now prepare his side for a vital NatWest T20 Blast clash with Surrey at The SSE SWALEC on Friday night. Secure your seats by clicking here.
