Glamorgan 2nd XI drew with Somerset 2nd XI in three-day friendly at Taunton Vale.
The home side declared on 259/7 on the opening day of the contest with young seam bowler Dewi Penrhyn Jones taking 5/44. Glamorgan then replied with 203/6 declared with wicket-keeper Gary Knight top-scoring with an unbeaten 60, whilst David Lloyd made 48. After an hour's play on the final day, Somerset had slipped to 56/5 from 22 overs with John Glover having taken three wickets and Robbie Williams two.
A rearguard action then followed as Somerset reached 172/7 before declaring. Glamorgan reached 59/3 before stumps were drawn as the contest ended all-square.
Glamorgan 2nd XI return to the SWALEC Stadium next week for their Second Eleven Championship match with Lancashire 2nd XI on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th. However, because Lancashire 2nd XI have reached Finals Day of the Second Eleven Twenty20 competition, the one-day match scheduled to have taken place at Glamorgan's headquarters on Thursday June 5th has been postponed. An alternative date for this contest will be announced shortly.
