Glamorgan County Cricket Club are delighted to announce its new partnership with A.F. Blakemore that will see the SPAR brand featuring across the back of the playing shirts for the next 2 cricket seasons.

A.F. Blakemore is one of the UK’s largest privately owned family businesses and is the wholesaler for SPAR stores in Wales, Central and South East England.  They have a strong commitment to supporting sports and nurturing their neighbours by fostering community spirit.

As an official partner of Glamorgan Cricket, the SPAR logo will be prominently displayed on the back of the team’s shirts, worn by players of Glamorgan’s first team across the Vitality Blast, Metro Bank One Day Cup and the Vitality County Championship.  The partnership is set to kick off with the unveiling of the shirt at the Vitality Blast match v Surrey on Friday 31st May at the Sophia Gardens, where supporters will get the first sight at the new look shirts.

In addition to the shirt branding SPAR and Glamorgan Cricket will collaborate on various community engagement activities and skills camps throughout the two seasons.

Following the announcement of the partnership, Glamorgan Cricket Head of Commercial Ed Rice said “We are delighted to welcome A.F. Blakemore and SPAR to the Glamorgan Cricket family as an official partner.  They are a business which shares our community values and we’re looking forward to working closely with them to grow cricket in Wales.  Their support is invaluable, and we are proud to wear the SPAR logo on the back of our playing shirts as we aim for success in the upcoming season.”

Sarah Ellis, Group Marketing Director at A.F. Blakemore, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Glamorgan Cricket, a team that embodies teamwork, dedication and passion – values that resonate deeply with our business. This sponsorship not only allows us to support the team and but also aligns with our mission to nurture our neighbourhoods through the power of sport. This partnership will demonstrate SPAR’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles through sport and we wish Glamorgan Cricket every success over the next two years.”
