As the bulk of the County Championship season gets underway, a number of players are progressing in their injury rehabilitation programmes.
Club captain Chris Cooke had his ankle ligament sprain confirmed with an MRI scan, suffered while batting at Newport against Gloucestershire. His rehab is progressing well but is still looking at 6-8 weeks before he can return to play.
Kieran Bull suffered an irritation of a previous back injury before the Specsavers County Championship fixture away at Derbyshire. His lumbar disc issue is being managed with a rehabilitation programme and he’ll be reassessed in approximately 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, Ruaidhri Smith has been diagnosed with a grade 2 muscle strain in the groin which will see him sidelined for a further 6-8 weeks for rehabilitation.
Finally, Craig Meschede is undergoing assessment to on a potential foot injury suffered while bowling in the 2nd XI clash against Middlesex at Radlett, but is likely to return to play soon.
