Mason Crane, who is loan from Hampshire, today became only the third leg-spinner and the first since 1981, to claim a five-wicket haul in Championship cricket for Glamorgan.
Mason recorded figures of 5/152 today against Yorkshire at Headingley with his haul including the wickets of Finlay Bean and Harry Brook as the home side made 519-7dec
The previous five-for by a leg-spinner for Glamorgan had been Robin Hobbs’ 5/85 against Essex at Castle Park, Colchester in 1981.
Before that, the only other five-wicket haul taken by a leg-spinner for the Welsh county in the County Championship was in 1939 when Cyril Smart claimed 5/39 against Somerset.
