Superb Neyland march proudly into Lord's Finals

3 Mar 2014 | Cricket
Neyland's talented sextet of indoor cricketers created a major slice of Pembrokeshire cricketing history as they travelled to Edgbaston for the Regional Finals and beat Godmanchester Town (Cambridgeshire) and then Elstow (Bedfordshire) to deservedly claim their place in indoor cricket's big day at Lord's.
Sean Hannon led by example and he received every support from his twin brother Patrick, Paul Murray, Nick Koomen, Andrew Miller and Patrick Bellerby, who has slotted into the side really well following injury to previous captain Gregg Miller.

In their semi-final they shot out Godmanchester Town for 72 and then won by two wickers before Elstow showed their prowess as they chased home club Moseley's 128 for 4 with a winning tally of 131 for 3 and an over in hand.

But it was Neyland who prevailed in the final as Sean Hannon again won the toss, brother Patrick caused early carnage in the Elstow batting before Paul Murray and Nick Koomen got Neyland off to a flier with 54 runs in the first four overs. From there on there was only going to be one winner - and that was Neyland, the pride of Pembrokeshire Cricket, who won with four wickets and three overs to spare!
