Surrey v Glamorgan at the Kia Oval - Preview & Squad

12 Aug 2025 | Cricket

The defending champions take on Surrey at the Kia Oval on Wednesday 13 August in search of their first win, after losing against Hampshire at Neath followed by a washed-out fixture against Derbyshire at the same venue.

Glamorgan's squad has been strengthened with the additions of vice-captain Sam Northeast and star all-rounder Dan Douthwaite, with the latter re-joining the team after a brief spell in The Hundred with London Spirit as Ollie Pope's replacement.

Glamorgan have enjoyed playing at the Kia Oval in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup against Surrey, most recently thrashing the south London giants by 7 wickets, chasing a small target of 122, in just 15 overs. Timm van der Gugten, who was the most economical bowler on that occasion, continues to recover from the heel injury he suffered at Sophia Gardens in the County Championship fixture against Kent in late July. Chris Cooke too will sit out for the group stage matches of the competition with a calf niggle, while Jamie McIlroy's quad injury has ruled him out for the remainder of the summer.
