Glamorgan conclude their campaign in the group stages of the Royal London One-Day Cup by visiting Hove on Tuesday, May 7th to meet the Sussex Sharks in a 50-overs contest which is scheduled to start at 1.00pm.
Whilst Glamorgan’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the One-Day Cup ended after their five-wicket defeat at Lord’s on Sunday, the Sharks are one of four counties, alongside Gloucestershire, Middlesex and Somerset, in a joust for the top three spots in the South Group
The Welsh county defeated the Sharks last summer by six wickets at Sophia Gardens as Timm van der Gugten claimed a trio of wickets before Colin Ingram and Kiran Carlson shared a match-winning stand of 98 runs. Ingram posted an unbeaten 95, whilst Carlson galloped to 59 from just 40 balls.
On their previous visit to Hove in 2017, the Sharks had won by 59 runs after Stiaan van Zyl made a composed 96. Danny Briggs then starred with the ball for the home side as despite half-centuries from Jacques Rudolph and Chris Cooke, the South coast side eased to victory.
In contrast, the Welsh county recorded a stirring victory by seven wickets when they met the Sharks in a List A game at the South Coast ground in August 2014, with Rudolph giving a masterclass in limited-overs batting as he made an unbeaten 169 as together with contrasting fifties from Gareth Rees and Murray Goodwin, he guided his side to their target of 329 in the 47th over.
