Sussex have announced that their Bangladeshi left-arm bowler Mustafizur Rahman will play no further part in the NatWest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup group stages – including the clash with Glamorgan at Hove tomorrow night.
The 20 year-old, who has been suffering from a shoulder injury has been advised to sit out the remainder of the group stages of both competitions, according to the club. He is due to have a scan this week to ascertain whether or not he will be fit enough to play in any knockout matches should Sussex qualify.
Sussex are still hopeful the dangerous seamer will play some part in the white-ball formats, if fit.
Mustafizur has played two NatWest T20 Blast matches so far, against Essex Eagles and Surrey last week, but the injury kept him out of Sunday’s visit to Cheltenham to face Gloucestershire in the Royal London One-Day Cup. The Bangladesh star took four wickets in Sussex's T20 victory over Essex.
Sussex go into Thursday night's game against Glamorgan needing to win and results elsewhere to go in their favour if they are to qualify for the quarter-finals. Glamorgan are searching for a victory to seal a home quarter-final.
