The rain is the only winner at Cardiff

Glamorgan lost the toss and were put in to bat by Somerset in the NatWest T20 Blast at the SWALEC Stadium, but shortly after the toss it started to rain again and the match was washed out.
Last night's victory by six wickets against the Middlesex Panthers at Richmond has lifted the Welsh county back into fourth place in the table. In contrast, Somerset are in bottom but one place having won just three of their eight games so far this season, with their five defeats including the loss by seven runs to Glamorgan at Taunton a month ago.

Another victory tonight would significantly boost Glamorgan's claim of a quarter-final place, but rain has been falling at Glamorgan's headquarters since around 2pm and with the protective sheets and covers still across the square, the umpires - Mark Benson and Graham Lloyd - decided to delay the start which had been scheduled for 6.30pm.

After a further inspection at 6.20pm it was decided that a 20-overs a side match could take place starting at 7pm, with Glamorgan calling up Ruaidhri Smith in place of Andrew Salter. Somerset won the toss and elected to bowl, but shortly afterwards it started to rain again and the sheets were brought back on. The precipitation continued and at 8pm the contest was abandoned.
