Glamorgan drew their final LV= County Championship match of the season after Sussex scored 554/8dec after being made to follow-on by Glamorgan.
The result between Worcestershire and Middlesex earlier in proceedings already meant that Glamorgan would finish in third place in the LV= County Championship Division Two table, with the Welsh county eventually finishing just nine points behind Middlesex in second.
"We gave it a good go, we just talked this morning that it was going to be unlikely, on this surface, to get a result but what I wanted to see was a good attitude and fair play to the lads they kept going all day, and that's all you can ask," said head coach Matt Maynard.
"Full credit to the boys, especially the two twirlers today, getting through the amount of overs that they did. There are some sore bodies because obviously, we've made two sides follow-on now so a lot of energy has gone into those results so our seam bowlers were pretty knackered this morning.
"What we wanted to do was try to challenge all the way until the end of the season, and that's what we've done. So, from that perspective, delighted. Delighted with some individual performances across the board and collectively as a unit in the field, how we've kept going through the season has been a delight.
"We weren't that far away at the end of the day, so we'll have a month or two off and then regroup and come back in preparation for next year."
