This is a good start for us - Hogan

Seamer Michal Hogan became Glamorgan's 2nd highest wicket-taker in the Vitality Blast as Glamorgan comfortably defeated Sussex Sharks by seven wickets at Hove.

The 40-year-old, playing his first T20 match since 2019, took 3/26, including the big scalp of Luke Wright to help restrict the Sharks to 150/6 before a clinical batting display saw Glamorgan reach the target with seven balls to spare.

"We’ve been on the back end of some heavy defeats here. I can’t remember winning at Hove before so it was nice to get off to a good start," said Hogan.

"There wasn’t a lot in the pitch so I just tried to try and hit the stumps and at the end mix up my pace and get my yorkers in at the end, then we chased really well.

"Sam Northeast showed he is a quality player and Kiran Carlson got us on the front foot after we lost Marnus Labuschagne. It’s the first of three games in four days and this is a good start for us.

"A few years ago I dropped a catch in front of some fans at third man here and we've been mates ever since, so I've attracted some fans here which is fun!"
