VACANCY: Conference and Banqueting Manager

The Conference and Banqueting Manager will be responsible for the match day hospitality and events, and the non-match day conference and banqueting operations of Glamorgan CCC.

The vision of Glamorgan County Cricket Club is to Make Wales Proud and our mission is to develop the national summer sport of Wales from the playground to the SWALEC Stadium.

The Conference and Banqueting Manager will be responsible for the match day hospitality and events, and the non-match day conference and banqueting operations of Glamorgan CC.

The post holder will be responsible for driving non-match day and hospitality sales and profitability in this area of the business whilst upholding outstanding levels of customer service and an exceptional standard of food and beverage offering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hospitality, conferencing and banqueting operation of Glamorgan CCC, including the line management of the Head Chef, Staffing and Recruitment Manager and Catering Manager.

Applicants should have:

  • Strong leadership, with experience of successfully leading and managing diverse teams
  • Evidence of confident and articulate communication experience with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong financial literacy and able to develop a practical system of results monitor progress against the operating plans and objective
  • Experience of managing P&L and sound financial management
  • Excellent experience in marketing and sales
  • High value selling, negotiating and persuasive skills with a demonstrable track record
  • Proven experience and success in a high profile, demanding, and fast-paced events and conference and banqueting environment at senior management level
  • Proven success at building excellent working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a senior management team
  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience of successfully leading and managing diverse teams
  • Evidence of sound commercial judgement and decision making capabilities
  • Strong financial literacy including managing a P&L
