Aneurin Donald\'s performances for Glamorgan in recent weeks have caught the eye of former England captain Michael Vaughan, who has been speaking glowingly about the Welsh youngster.
Vaughan – who famously led England to victory in the 2005 Ashes Series – tipped Donald to go on to achieve big things within the game, even touting him as a possible future England international.
Donald grabbed the headlines with an equal world-record 234 off 135 balls at Colwyn Bay to lead Glamorgan to glory over Derbyshire in the Specsavers County Championship and Vaughan was suitably impressed with the Swansea-born 19-year-old.
"He's certainly got a great opportunity of having a long career in the game," Vaughan said.
"If he keeps getting double centuries, winning his team games and being there at the end not out then I think the England management will take note."
Donald has captained England at age group level and featured in the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh last winter, before breaking into the Glamorgan side in all formats this season with a string of solid displays. He made 98 against Gloucestershire at the back end of 2015, before hitting a maiden first-class ton versus Cardiff MCCU in April.
The Welshman then struck two half-centuries in Glamorgan's first three T20 games, before his eye-catching double-century in North Wales.
Yorkshireman Vaughan worked with Donald when the youngster was involved with the England performance squad.
He added: "I know his character and I know his game and I know he's thought of very highly at Glamorgan and by the England set-up," Vaughan told BBC Radio Wales Sport.
"He's got a good game and a nice mature head on his shoulder.
"I remember watching him captain a performance programme game at Loughborough and was very impressed with his manner.
"It's not just the talent with him - it's his maturity and his temperament and I think it's going to take him a long way."
Donald will return to his hometown of Swansea on Sunday when Glamorgan take on Hampshire in a Royal London One-Day cup match.
