Graham Wagg led a spirited Glamorgan fight back on Day Two of their Specsavers County Championship clash with Sussex, as the visitors went from 232/2 to 283 all out.
The 33-year-old rattled through the Sussex middle order, taking three wickets in four balls to turn the match on its head, as Glamorgan ended the day on equal terms after Will Bragg and Jacques Rudolph guided the hosts to 50/1 at stumps.
Wagg finished with 3/74 while Timm van der Gugten finished off the Sussex tail to get 3/61. Glamorgan now lead by 19 runs overnight with nine wickets remaining.
"They were well on top at one stage and we were thinking it was going to be a long hard day in the field, but the way we pulled it back was fantastic," said Wagg, who praised his fellow seam bowlers van der Gugten, Michael Hogan and Craig Meschede.
"We bowled well as a unit. Yesterday wasn't so good, but we really pulled it back today," he added.
Sussex's Chris Nash was the only player to pass 50 in the visitors' innings, making a composed 132 before eventually falling to van der Gugten. Wagg was full of praise for the experienced Sussex opener.
Wagg said: "Hats off to Chris Nash, he played a fantastic knock and showed that there are ways to score runs on that pitch. But we kept it tight and made sure they didn't get away from us and the wickets came eventually.
"I was trying to bend my back in that over and I'll take three (wickets) in four balls. Overall, I'm very happy with that and then I thought Jacques and Will Bragg batted very well at the end."
Glamorgan will go into Day Three with renewed hopes of winning this match, as Bragg, Rudolph and company look to build a defendable lead.
