Wallace becomes a Twenty20 centurion

17 May 2014 | Cricket
Mark Wallace appeared in his 100th Twenty20 match on Friday night at the Ageas Bowl as Glamorgan launched their campaign in the NatWest T20 Blast with a 10-run victory over Hampshire.
Mark is the first player to reach this landmark solely for the Welsh county, and he celebrated his achievement under the Ageas Bowl floodlights, initially batting at number 3 with a composed innings of 33 which helped to lay the foundations of a match winning total before completing a smart stumping off the bowling of Andrew Salter to send James Vince back to the dug-out, besides assisting in the run out of Will Smith as Hampshire's run-chase failed.

The Glamorgan wicket-keeper is the seventh county cricketer to this commendable landmark, with two other members of the keepers union - Durham's Phil Mustard and Essex's James Foster - also featuring in the list of players to have appeared in a hundred or more Twenty 20 matches at county level. Also in the list below is Mark's Glamorgan colleague Murray Goodwin who enjoyed a successful career with Sussex before moving to South Wales in 2013.

The full list of players to have appeared in a hundred or more Twenty20 games is:

113 Darren Stevens
110 Azhar Mahmood
106 James Foster
104 Murray Goodwin
103 James Hildreth
102 Phil Mustard
100 Mark Wallace
